# The people who scope the work deliver the work.
The Team that you meet is the Team doing the work. Our Senior Leaders stay engaged on all Client engagements.
How we work
## No layers between you and the work.
The principal on the first conversation is the principal on the engagement. There is no layer of subcontractors between the conversation and the code.
That is a structural choice. Most consultancies grow by stacking layers. We grew by keeping the layers thin. The firm is veteran-led, accountable, and named: each principal has a face on this page and a record we are willing to defend.
The internal team has a name we use inside and out: Smoothies. The reason is on the What is C Infinity page. The firm is named after a mathematical property called smoothness, and the people who run the firm are the ones who hold the property to its definition.

The name
## Why we call them Smoothies.
The team is named, and the name is Smoothies. The choice is deliberate. The firm is named after a property in mathematics: a C-infinity function is smooth at every order. Smoothness is the operating standard for the work and the relationships, and the people who hold the standard get the name.
The name does two more things. It signals that the team is the firm, not a rotating bench and not a chain of subcontractors. And it carries a little warmth into a category that usually does not allow itself any. The formality stays in the work; the warmth stays in the team.
Smoothies operate on Conntinuum, the platform that runs delivery, under C³V, the methodology underneath the platform. The three-layer stack, C³V methodology, Conntinuum platform, C Infinity team, is named here because the team is the third layer of it. The Smoothies are the firm.
The team
## Senior Smoothies.
The senior Smoothies work across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Latin America, with teammates in Asia and Europe as well. Engineers, designers, and strategists, each one senior enough to scope the work they ship. Named profiles are published as each Smoothie opts in; the fastest way to meet the team behind your engagement is to start the conversation.

Hiring
## How we hire, and what we value.
We hire when we have work, and we hire well. The Careers page is honest about what that looks like in practice. On the people side of the same posture: we hire for the Guiding Principles before the skills, because the skills are easier to evaluate and the principles are the bar that holds.
Senior practitioners are hired senior. Early-career engineers are hired with intent: they own real work from week one and apprentice on engagements, not on slides. Smoothie tenure tends to be long, and the reason is structural. People who can scope and deliver tend to stay where they have ownership, and we engineer for ownership.
