This blog is called Limitless, and the name is not a motivational poster. It is a math joke that we take completely seriously.

The firm is named C Infinity, short for C∞. In mathematical analysis, a function of class C∞ is smooth: it can be differentiated again and again, and every derivative exists and is continuous. You can ask how the function is changing, then how the rate of change is changing, then how that is changing, forever. There is no level at which the question stops having an answer. The differentiation is, literally, limitless.

That property is the standard we hold the work to. Smooth at every order means no kinks, no breaks, no sudden jump where the engagement goes one way on one side and another way on the other. Not just smooth at the level you can see in a status meeting, but smooth at the zoom levels nobody usually inspects: the handoffs, the requirements, the assumptions underneath the estimates.

So when we sat down to name the place where we write, the name was already there. The blog is where we keep asking the next derivative. How is the work changing? How is the way we build changing? What is underneath that, and what is underneath that?

Expect short-form writing from the team: observations from engagements, technical notes, working theory, the occasional argument. New posts when we have something worth saying, not on a content calendar.

Smoothness is the property of the work. Limitless is the pursuit of it.
